Materials Science of Actinides
To understand and control, at the nanoscale, materials that contain actinides (radioactive heavy elements such as uranium and plutonium) to lay the scientific foundation for advanced nuclear energy systems.
Welcome

The Materials Science of Actinides - Energy Frontiers Research Center

We invite you to take a look at the research we are doing in Actinide Science.

We are pleased to announce and congratulate Maik Lang on receiving the 2010 Alvin Van Valkenburg Award that will be presented during the Research at High Pressure Gordon Research Conference to be held at Holderness School, Holderness, NH. This award recognizes Maik's innovative strategy of studying materials under extreme conditions by combining high pressure experiments with high-energy irradiations.

Science Advisory Board Meeting - May 24 and 25, 2010

The Science Advisory Board along with PIs, grad students, and post-docs of the EFRC-Materials Science of Actinides attended a the Science Advisory Board meeting at the University of Notre Dame. Research talks and a poster session highlighted the research for the first year of this EFRC.
